A monument with over half a century of history La sardana is the work of the sculptor Josep Cañas, with the collaboration of Carles Amadon. Sculpted in limestone from Ulldecona, the work represents four couples from the dance group Colla Sardanista Violetes del Bosc and was inaugurated at the entrance to the fairground in Montjuïc in 1966.

Share it In 1971, the town of Lloret de Mar was proclaimed a Sardana Heritage Town, commemorating the typical Catalan sardana dance. In celebration of this, the Town Council decided to erect a monument dedicated to the dance, which was designed and built in metal by Girona sculptor Domènec Fita.
